Is there a kayaking age limit?

Kayaking is one of the enjoyable outdoor activities. As has been said in other kinds of water sports, kayaking’s age limit is also between 5 to 7 years old, but this hasn’t been written or published as a universal age restriction anywhere. At this age, children can paddle their own boat or kayak with one of their guardians. At this age they are able to follow the instructions understand how to kayak in the right way and listen to lessons that their coach teaches them. Bellow all are written about kayaking age limit:

  • Kayaking age limit for children is like the ones with at least 6 years old can begin to learn how to kayak with short distances.
  • When the weather conditions is suitable and stable, children with the age above 6 to 10 can paddle on their own for slightly longer distances
  • For children above 11, can manage to kayak longer trips.
  • Children should follow kayaking instructions that they must stay seated and keep their hands to themselves in kayak.
  • Children need to understand the importance of wearing a life jacket at all times
  • For children under 16, their guardians or a paddler must join them while they’re kayaking

  1. The most important risk is drowning especially for those who are not strong swimmers or are unfamiliar with kayaking
  2. Hypothermia for Young children who don’t recognize it.

  4. Younger children don’t have the strength to survive in bad conditions while kayaking
